Famous Ragdoll Kittens & Cats

Over the years, there have been a small number of Ragdoll Cats that have appeared on film and television and in magazines. Here, is a list of these famous Ragdolls.

Ellen DeGeneres Show
Betty Adam wrote to Ellen about her male Ragdoll, Jaxon and subsequently a photograph of him was shown live on air.

Blue Peter
In the UK, popular Children's TV show Blue Peter have always had a cat in their team. The latest addition is a white Ragdoll called Socks.

Cy
The story of Cy reported by Associated Press in early 2006 is a tragic one. He was a Ragdoll born with a rare disorder called holoprosencephaly, which caused him to have just a single eye and no nose. Sadly, the poor kitten only managed to survive for 24 hours.

The Algonquin Hotel
This hotel situated in New York has had a tradition of keeping a Ragdoll Cat in the lobby since the 1930's. All males are called Hamlet, while all females are called Matilda.

Vera Wang
A Ragdoll Kitten was recently used in a magazine advertisement for Vera Wang's 'Princess' perfume. The kitten's name was Li'l Prince and the advertisement was displayed on a two-page spread in top fashion magazine, Vogue.
